FAQ

Do you have an inventory of pre-made Piggy BedSpreads?

No, we make your order after we receive it.

How long will it take to get my order?

Sewn Goods: All products requiring sewing are made to order. The ship date for your order is approximately 2 to 5 business days from the day you place your order.

Cage Only Orders: If the only items in your order include cages, connectors, or grids (no sewn items), the ship date is approximately 1 to 3 business days from the day you place your order. If there are any sewn items in your order, the approximate ship date is 2 to 5 business days from the day you place the order.

Do you make Piggy BedSpreads for store-bought cages?

Yes! We make spreads for Kaytee/Super Pet Cages, Midwest Guinea Habitat Cages, and Hagen Living World cages. Click on these links to see our offerings!

Do you make custom sized Piggy BedSpreads?

Unfortunately no. We stay extremely busy making Piggy BedSpreads and Cage Mates specifically for our cages C&C cages.  We also support Midwest Guinea Pig Habitats, Hagen Living World, and Kaytee My First Home/Super Pet cages.  If you don’t have one of these cages, please consider investing in one and we’d be happy to meet your guinea pig bedding needs. Fleece performs best in larger, more spacious cages!

Can you make a Piggy BedSpread using my fleece?

Yes, however it can get pricey due to the fact that the customer pays for their own fleece, pays to ship the fleece to us, and then pays to ship the finished product back home. We do offer a discount based on our fleece pricing. So, having said all that….if you still want to pursue this route, please email us for a quote at service@piggybedspreads.com.

How often should I wash my spreads?
  • Sweep up hay & droppings 1-2 times a day
  • After a week (or more frequently if you have multiple piggies) remove your Piggy BedSpread from the coroplast tray and brush off hair, hay & droppings
  • Machine wash your Piggy Products in warm or cold water using laundry detergent that doesn’t contain fabric softener. I like Arm and Hammer and Purex Powder but any brand will do.
  • Machine dry on LOW to MEDIUM heat and be certain to clean the lint filter afterwards which will be filled with hair
  • Sanitize your washing machine by running a cycle of hot water and ½ cup of chlorine bleach
  • Now you’re ready for the next load for the rest of your family.
  • Please visit our Product Care page for more detailed information.
Do you ship internationally?

Yes indeed! Currently our shopping cart is setup to accept orders from the USA, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, France, Italy and Ireland. If you live in a country that isn’t supported by our shopping cart, please email us a list of the items you’d like to purchase and the name of your country when inquiring and we will gladly email you a quote. We can then email you a PayPal invoice so you can make make payment for your items.

Please Note:
Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyers responsibility. Please check with your country’s customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to buying. These charges are normally collected by the delivering company or when you pick the item up. Do not confuse them for additional shipping charges on our behalf.

My back wall is higher than my other 3 walls. Can you make me a set of Piggy BedSpreads?

The back wall in your cage was made higher to accommodate disposable bedding and to prevent it from getting kicked out behind the cage where it is hard to reach and clean up. With Piggy BedSpreads, there is no disposable bedding getting kicked of the cage so the higher wall is no longer necessary. You can trim the back wall down to the same height as the other 3 walls with a craft knife or utility knife, and place your order on the website for the standard C&C spread. We have many happy customers with similar cage set-ups and the majority of these folks decided to trim the back wall down and order a standard spread.

Will Piggy BedSpreads eliminate odor?

No, but they will greatly reduce odor. If you follow the care instruction for daily sweeping, and weekly washing of the spreads, we can assure you that both you and your piggies will enjoy the day to day benefits that Piggy BedSpreads have to offer, including dissipation and reduction of odors.

Why are Piggy BedSpreads so expensive?

At first glance, Piggy BedSpreads may seem expensive, but if you break it down to a cost per month, compared to buying disposable bedding such as Carefresh or Aspen Pine shavings, over time Piggy BedSpreads will save you money.

Why does my Piggy BedSpread stink?

Have you owned and operated a Piggy BedSpread for a few months now and it is beginning to stink after only a day or two? If so, please read the following information on “Odor Management” for your Piggy BedSpread.
